We treat focal, persistent pain associated with trigger points!
The American Family Physician journal described trigger points as, spots located in a taut band of muscle that produce pain. Sudden or repetitive injuries may lead to the development of stress on muscle fibers and the formation of trigger points.
These trigger points may also develop as tension headaches, ringing in the ears, jaw pain, and low back pain. An injection of prescription pain medication and a medication to help with swelling, can help.
Patients who have trigger points often complain of persistent pain and inability to fully move the joint near the area of muscle pain.
Prescription pain medications and muscle relaxers often help patients with chronic muscle pain.
